LYSINE
Lysine is an amino acid. Amino acids are the basic units of which protein is constructed and amino acids can be modified to provide a wide variety of products that are required for an animal to function.
It is one of the essential amino acids that horses need to build proteins. Since they can't produce essential amino acids themselves, amino acids such as Lysine need to be supplemented when levels are low. It is common that typical diets high in roughage should be supplemented with Lysine to help complete amino acid profiles. Lysine also plays an important role in supporting your horses immune system and may assist treatment of the common cold.
