Description
An inactivated adjuvanted vaccine for the immunisation of mares and foals as an aid in the control of diseases caused by Salmonella typhimurium.
Recommendations for Use
Two doses of the vaccine at an interval of 4 weeks apart are required to produce an adequate response.

Clinical Use
– For all mares and foals administer 2 mL (full contents of one syringe) by deep intramuscular injection, preferably in the rump.

– Take care to avoid accidental self-injection. In the event of self- administration, seek medical attention if you are concerned and show the package leaflet or the label, to the Medical Practitioner.

– This material may cause a mild allergic reaction in sensitive individuals on skin contact. Avoid skin contact. If skin or hair contact occurs, remove contaminated clothing and flush skin and hair with running water. If splashed in eyes, wash out immediately with water.

Contraindications
– Do not vaccinate stallions and horses in training.
Side Effects
– In some animals, the injection of vaccine can cause a painful swelling which appears within 1 to 2 days and can persist for up to 2 weeks. For this reason injection into the rump is advised. Slight lameness may occur for a day or so in horses which react severely to the vaccine but this will not affect feeding or general well-being. Mildly affected animals may favour the leg on the vaccinated side.
NOTE: If the vaccine is injected in the neck, the horse may have difficulty with feeding, particularly off the ground, for a few days.
Precautions
– Vaccination is not recommended within 4 weeks of expected birth.
